Fresno Deaf Service Center Receives $128,857 as California Invests $2.7 Million in Five Career and Training Services for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

August 24, 2024 – SACRAMENTO – The Employment Development Department (EDD) announced that it has awarded approximately $2.7 million to five organizations that will provide specialized employment services and job training to people who deaf or hard of hearing in the American Career Center of California.SM places.
These programs, including the services of low-cost interpreters, will help Californians who are deaf or hard of hearing to find good jobs and training opportunities, regardless of their abilities. to hear,” EDD Director Nancy Farias said.
Awardee organizations will use grant funds to provide expanded training and employment services to deaf or hard of hearing individuals and job seekers. The programs offered will include the services of interpreters to assist participants with communication access in discussions, workshops and seminars.
Interpreters will also help provide communication access to EDD programs and services.
